Green Ribbon Schools

Green Ribbon Schools (GRS) is an initiative of the Texas Children in Nature Consortium to promote healthy living for students, parents and staff. The program encourages schools to take steps to create a healthy and environmentally friendly campus, to encourage outdoor physical activity and healthy eating habits and to connect students to nature through outdoor classrooms, field trips and natural resource curricula.

An award-winning K- 12 program, Cyberways and Waterways® (now a 501c3 organization) is a supplemental science program that integrates technology into the classroom through an innovative set of learning activities and lesson plans facilitated through the 4empowerment website. The program includes customizable teacher training tools and resources for technology and professional development competency needs. Cyberways and Waterways is a showcase for effectively involving higher education, scientists, community and business leaders in local classroom activities.

4empowerment will support StuCo members in achieving Outstanding Student Council, Energy & Environment, Pride and Patriotism, Publicity, and Community Service recognition. 4empowerment provides a robust; secured web site; delivering resources, project creation and site management tools, secured discussion forums and online publishing opportunities. 4empowerment (4e) will recognize outstanding StuCo achievement through special awards. 4e’s electronic 4e-newsletter communicates project ideas, student contests and showcases student achievement. Advisors are provided the means to enroll StuCo members in a secured web site to establish, track and publish information on their projects. Get more information here.
