Big Picture Report Ideas

Big Picture Reports allows students to reflect on what they have learned through their Local Ecosystem Reports and data they have collected for their Field Projects. By executing critical thinking skills, students make connections to discover possible causes and solutions to issues facing their communities. These are also areas where students and teachers can collaborate with other schools to compare specific topics and conclusions to similar issues.

So What?

Now that you have several months of testing data, what are you going to do with it? Based on your data, how do you know if there are problems within your watershed?

This section aims to provide a jumping off point to determine what questions you might ask concerning your findings and to point you in the right direction for finding answers to your questions. The information is merely a framework. Each river, tributary, ocean, estuary has its own characteristics.

The real work begins after you finish testing. Chances are no one else is testing at your site. This makes you THE water expert for your site. You possess real and valuable data that you can use to make a case to support cleaner water along your watershed. Included in this section is a list of tips and links to help you use your water testing findings to make a difference in your community.
